What is a Housekeeping Service?

A Housekeeping service is different to a cleaning service in a few key ways. Most cleaners will take care of the three main areas of your home - the bathrooms, the kitchen and the floors. Most general cleaning services will not pick items up off the floors, they usually wont make beds or move items on shelves to dust under and around them. Most cleaners will not put a load of washing on or put things away where they belong. 

What a typical Housekeeping Service can look like:

On the day of your service, you housekeeper arrives with their fully stocked cleaning caddy with everything they need to clean your home. Their first task is to collect laundry from around the home and put on a load of washing. While the washing is on, they will make beds/ strip and replace linen (depending on your requirements), tidy up and straighten up bedrooms, putting items back in their place. If you need extra help to organise your space, your housekeeper will help you to sort out your storage options. They will then clean bathrooms. add fresh towels and restock supplies. Washing is either hung out to dry or finished in the dryer, depending on your preferences, then folded and put away. Your housekeeper will clean the kitchen, wash dishes, empty and clean bins and restock supplies. Depending on time and your requirements, your housekeeper will clean and organise cupboards, the fridge and pantry. Our housekeepers dust all surfaces, clean glass and mirrors, polish stainless steel and clean fans, skirting boards, door tracks. Any task that needs attention in your home will be taken care of by your housekeeper. You have direct communication with your housekeeper so that you can be confident that they are doing all of the tasks that you require to your exact requirements. Your service each week is consistent and routine, only changing as your needs change. You can expect that after the first 2-3 weeks of regular services, your house will be cleaner, more organised, and easier to maintain.

What to expect from The Housekeeper?

Before we begin, we discuss with you exactly what you require, walk with you through your home and talk to you about your short term and long terms goals for hiring a housekeeper. We know that reasons and desired outcomes can vary from person to person and we don't ever assume to know what you want. We also know that things can change and you’re welcome to change things from one clean to the next. Your Housekeeper will be the same for every service so that you can rest assured knowing that your housekeeper knows your home and the job required for your peace of mind and security. If for any reason your housekeeper changes we will work with you every step of the transition to ensure we find a replacement you are happy with. 

Your housekeeper will become an integral part of your household, helping to take care of the day to day household management duties including but not limited to: Cleaning, tidying, laundry, ironing, bed making and general household organisation.

Regular Housekeeping Services can be scheduled to suit your requirements. 

Your housekeeper will help you keep on top of all general areas and everyday tasks, which can include:

  • Bathrooms – bath tub, shower recess, basin cleaned and sanitised
  • Toilets cleaned and sanitised
  • Kitchen – bench top, sink, cook top, microwave, outside cupboards/drawers
  • High and Low Dusting and wiping furniture
  • Thorough vacuum & mopping of floors
  • Glass and mirror cleaning
  • Stainless steel care
  • Specialised furniture care
  • Washing dishes
  • Laundry - washing, drying, folding and sorting (special care & delicates included)
  • Bed making & styling
  • Ironing - work shirts, uniforms, linen etc.
  • Home organisation
  • Supplies purchasing & errands
  • Periodical spring cleaning
  • Other tasks upon request

$49/ Hour (incl. GST) - Minimum 4hrs

* Number of hours dependant on level of Housekeeping required.
